anchors is the story of three friends who share a love of and connection to the classic children’s books 'Swallows and Amazons'.

The themes of the story go much deeper though, and in it we take a gentle meander through friendship, exploration, and the profound impact of stories that challenge age and gender stereotypes. It’s not about going the furthest, fastest, or highest—it’s about dreaming and being unapologetically yourself. It’s about finding and reframing anchors in the face of loss.

anchors is a multi part story - stills and a film directed by Dave Macfarlane and produced by myself, which was selected for Kendal Mountain Film Festival, London Mountain Film Festival and Sheffield Adventure Film Festival.
