About

Hi, I’m Sarah, nice to meet you!

I’m a photographer and writer who puts people and places at the heart of compelling authentic stories with a purpose. You can find me shooting an active travel experience, snapping streets on a travel photography assignment, creating genuine brand imagery, capturing an event and telling unique story of a community - it doesn’t matter what I’m shooting, it’s always about the who and the where behind the story.

I’ve always loved looking at the relationship between people and the places they live, work and explore. My background in sociology and psychology gave me a pretty solid insight into how and why we interact with spaces the way we do, which feeds into the work I do now with my camera and my writing.

I used to work in housing and combined with my natural people skills, this means I can build relationships quickly and easily. This gives my work an ease and informality that is part of my unique style, even with camera shy people!

Being a writer as well as a photographer is great because it means I can deliver a complete content package on a subject, whether that’s a photo essay, a long form article or shorter editorial pieces designed for social media. It also gives me space to flex my storytelling muscles in a different way, combining images and words to really delve deep into a subject.

I travel frequently for work and for personal journeys, and I’m used to working in a range of locations, from rugged mountains to urban cityscapes, and in all weathers. And I’m never too far away from a brew or coffee.
